Rennie Deflatine Information
What is Rennie Deflatine?
Rennie Deflatine is a non-prescription simethicone-based treatment with antacid properties for the gentle but effective relief of trapped wind, bloating, heartburn and indigestion that may be occasional or caused by an underlying health condition such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). It works quickly to diffuse bubbles of gas that cause discomfort and neutralise stomach acid.
Rennie Deflatine is manufactured by Bayer and is available to purchase in boxes of 36 tablets. They can be taken as and when they are required by children and adults over the age of 12 years to a maximum of 11 tablets in 24 hours.
How does Rennie Deflatine work?
The active ingredient in Rennie Deflatine tablets is simeticone, an antiflatulent agent effective at reducing trapped wind and bloating by combining multiple small trapped bubbles of gas into one large bubble that can be passed more easily. It also has antacid properties that help to neutralise excess stomach acid, which eases pain and discomfort caused by heartburn and indigestion.
How quickly does Rennie Deflatine work?
For most people Rennie Deflatine will noticeably ease symptoms of trapped wind and bloating within 30 minutes of sucking or chewing 1 - 2 tablets. You should not take more than 11 tablets in 24 hours.
If you are relying on Rennie Deflatine regularly or you do not find that taking the recommended dose of this product is enough to reduce your pain or discomfort you should speak to a doctor or pharmacist for further advice.
