Buy Dermol 500 Lotion Online

Dermol 500 Lotion is specially formulated to help soothe and prevent dry and itchy skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. If you have a dry or itchy skin condition, you can use Dermol 500 Lotion as a substitute for soap. This may help to moisturise your skin, treat your condition, and reduce the symptoms of eczema or dermatitis.

Alternatively, you can use Dermol 500 Lotion as a leave-on treatment. Apply the lotion to your skin as often as required to keep your itching under control. Dermol 500 Lotion is suitable for people of all ages, including babies.

Dermol 500 Lotion contains both emollients and antimicrobials. Emollients are medicines that soften and moisturise your skin. By preventing your skin from drying out, emollients can reduce dryness and irritation and restore the normal protective function of your skin.

Antimicrobials combat the bacteria that’s naturally present on your body. Destroying these bacteria can help to prevent your skin becoming infected when you scratch it and can help to ease eczema and other itchy skin conditions.

Dermol 500 Lotion Summary

About Dermol 500 Lotion

What is Dermol 500 Lotion?

Dermol 500 Lotion is a topical skin treatment that’s designed to soothe and prevent itchy skin conditions like eczema and dermatitis. The lotion can be used as a substitute for soap or left on to help moisturise your skin and reduce irritation. Using Dermol 500 Lotion on a regular basis could help to prevent eczema and dermatitis and ease any dryness or itching that you’re experiencing.

How Does Dermol 500 Lotion Work?

Dermol 500 Lotion works by targeting and destroying the bacteria present on your skin that could trigger an infection when you scratch itchy areas. The lotion also works to moisturise and soothe skin by trapping moisture and restoring the normal protective properties of your skin.

You can use Dermol lotion instead of soap. This may help to reduce the dryness and irritation that soap can cause. Keeping your skin moisturised may help to prevent uncomfortable conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.

Alternatives to Dermol 500 Lotion

Dermol 500 Lotion is just one product from our large range of eczema and dermatitis treatments. At The Independent Pharmacy, we stock a wide range of alternative emollients including; Doublebase, Zerobase and Cetraben. See our Dry Skin page for a full range of products.

We also have in stock both prescription and non-prescription steroid creams, ointments and solutions that can be purchased over on our Eczema and Dermatitis Advice page.

If you are unsure what the most appropriate and effective treatment is for you then it is important that first, you discuss your symptoms with a doctor or pharmacist.

How To Use Dermol 500

If you’re using Dermol 500 Lotion as a leave-on treatment for eczema or dermatitis, gently apply the lotion to the affected areas. Let any excess lotion soak in slowly, don’t rub the lotion vigorously as this could cause irritation. You can use Dermol 500 Lotion as often as required to keep your symptoms under control.

If you’re using the lotion as a substitute for soap, simply use it in the same way you would use shower gel or ordinary soap. The lotion won’t lather (make bubbles) in the same way as normal soap, but it will help to clean and moisturise your skin.

Ingredients

The active ingredients in Dermol 500 Lotion are benzalkonium chloride (0.1% w/w), chlorhexidine dihydrochloride (0.1% w/w), liquid paraffin (2.5% w/w) and isopropyl myristate (2.5% w/w). These ingredients are there to combat the bacteria on your skin and moisturise and protect the affected areas. The other ingredients in the lotion are cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether (cetomacrogol 1000), phenoxyethanol and purified water.

Side Effects

Dermol 500 Lotion is generally well tolerated, and most people who use it won’t experience any side effects. However, like all medicines, the lotion could cause some symptoms. Rarely, the lotion may cause treated areas to become itchier and more irritated. This reaction is slightly more likely if you use the lotion in excess as a leave-on treatment.

In extremely rare cases, Dermol 500 Lotion may cause an allergic reaction. Seek medical attention immediately if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, a sudden uncharacteristic red itchy skin rash away from the site of application, or wheezing or difficulty breathing. It’s also important to speak to a doctor if you feel faint or dizzy, have a strange metallic taste in your mouth or collapse after using the lotion.
