What are stomach ulcers?

Stomach ulcers (also known as “gastric ulcers”), also known as gastric ulcers, are open sores that develop on the lining of the stomach. They are a type of peptic ulcer, which means they are related to the digestive tract. When these ulcers occur in the upper part of the small intestine, they are called duodenal ulcers.

In around 9 out of 10 cases, they are due to an infection caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori).

What is Helicobacter Pylori (H.pylori)?

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria that infects the stomach. It is a major cause of peptic ulcers and can lead to chronic gastritis and even stomach cancer if left untreated.
