Ultra Chloraseptic Information
What is Ultra Chloraseptic & what is it used for?
Ultra Chloraseptic is an anaesthetic throat spray designed to provide fast relief from the pain of sore throats. It contains the active ingredient Benzocaine, which belongs to a group of medicines called local anaesthetics. It quickly numbs the area leaving your throat feeling comfortable in a matter of seconds.
Each packet of Ultra Chloraseptic contains over 100 spray applications, which is the equivalent of 33 adult doses. You can choose between three flavours; cherry, blackcurrant and original menthol. Plus, Ultra Chloraseptic’s pocket-sized bottle and protective cap make it a convenient on-the-go relief choice.
This product should not be used continuously for more than 3 days. If your sore throat has persisted beyond three days without improvement, you should seek advice from your local pharmacist. Also, if your sore throat is severe or accompanied by a fever, a headache or feelings of sickness, it is advised to visit your pharmacist.
How does Ultra Chloraseptic Spray work?
Ultra Chloraseptic Spray contains the active ingredient Benzocaine, which is a local anaesthetic. Local anaesthetics work by numbing the area they are applied to. Three quick sprays are all that’s needed to numb a sore throat in a matter of seconds. Ultra Chloraseptic will work topically at the site of pain, providing effective relief from your sore throat without numbing the entire mouth.
Causes of a sore throat
A sore throat can be caused by two types of infection; viral and bacterial. A viral infection is the more common of the two. Viral infections will not respond to antibiotic treatment so the best course of action is to let the infection pass whilst treating the associated pain. One of the most effective methods of treating the pain of a sore throat is by using anaesthetic throat sprays, such as Ultra Chloraseptic.
Bacterial infections often result in a more serious sore throat, commonly identified by the presence of yellow mucus in the throat. Severe cases of bacterial throat infections will often require antibiotics treatment.
It is normal for sore throats to last up to 10 days.
